Hello Collin County Voters,
My name is Courtney Brooks, and I am running for Collin County Commissioner in Precinct 1 as a Democrat.
I am a mom to eight kids and a very proud Army wife to my husband, Jeremy, a foster mom and a cancer survivor.
I’m running because I believe that the County Commissioners can lead real reform to improve the services, economic upward mobility, and a path forward for all our residents.
I worked for HomeAid/Home Builder’s Care (the nonprofit arm of the Dallas Builders Association), as a PTA President, as a juvenile detention officer in Dallas county, and as a juvenile probation officer in Fannin County. In Fannin County, I used my Bachelor’s degree in Criminology to help juvenile delinquents make better choices.
After deciding to stay home to raise my children, I opened a licensed in-home daycare in Melissa and McKinney, Texas.
I have built my life on community service, accountability and integrity.
I believe the people of Collin County deserve County Commissioners who are more accessible, transparent, and responsive and I have a lot of ideas for how to make that happen.
My commitment is to treat each resident of Collin County as I would like to be treated: with respect, kindness, honesty and fairness. I will always listen to residents, business leaders, union leaders, and nonprofits to develop and execute decisions that make sense for Collin County.
